Um yeah just keep repeating that to yourself...
The parent company (who owns WIND) has also already posted their intention to dump off the massively unprofitable Canadian service
There are so many threads about this on the web that your attempt to defend them must have an ulterior motive

Only question at this point is whether someone else buys them out or breaks them up for parts

Well beside rampant fanboyism why else start such a thread? Especially when every media outlet & the actual company itself is saying otherwise?

A brand that had an ARPU of only $27, has barely half a million customers, and has a HUGE debt load (nearly 2 billion at this point, Vimpel actually wrote off over $400 million in last quarter and publicly stated the launch in Canada was a failure)

The final nail in the coffin was Wind not even taking part in the next spectrum auction (with no LTE support the network would continue using the much slower AWS which gets nowhere near the level of penetration for buildings)
They don't want to lose anymore money

Fan pages are created by employees (none of which are anywhere near the upper corporate level)
Hell I own the Bell Mobility page (I can post a message to you from it if you liked?) as I used social media to sell services and promote releases of phones...

Um. In no way does that 'message' from Wind say the company isn't for sale.

"Hi everyone, there have been a lot of rumours and speculation in the media regarding business changes. Since our launch we have often been the target of this speculation, but we prefer to focus on the facts - and those are that it’s business as usual here at WIND and that isn’t going to change. After the most successful quarter in our company’s history, we are continuing to provide Canadians with a true wireless alternative that offers the value they deserve."

This is business speak for 'Please don't bail on us while we are being sold'.....

'Focus on the facts' = we don't want to answer questions.....

'it’s business as usual here at WIND' = staff that answer your calls will be the last to know....

'most successful quarter in our company's history' = finally the owners/investors can bail with some money....

'provide Canadians with a true wireless alternative that offers the value they deserve' = ... well this one is probably true.

'most successful quarter in our company's history' Might actually mean, "The quarter that we have the smallest financial loss to date."

Somewhat true
Most successful = most new phones

Problem is the same quarter also has the highest interest charges on a loan that now exceeds 2 billion dollars
So revenue increases but debt increases at a higher ratio...

@LA

I am kind of interested in what kind of price will be paid
Vimpelcom is insisting whoever wins assumes part of the debt liability (which is an insanely high amount)
