I'm starting to think the people who comes up with stupid statement like "People who price match are losers" are really clueless when it comes to shopping and are not wise with their money. Why do you think majority of the big retailers are so big on "Price Match", it's all a game to get the customers to do all their shopping in one store. It's also environmental friendly if you think about it, less driving around and burning up the gas to shop at mulitple stores.

No really its appealing to the Walmart generations
It def is more convenient to buy all your stuff from there

But don't even try to say they have the best quality stuff in the store (everything from produce to tvs are usually vastly inferior, either old models or what not)

It all comes down to money
I can understand worrying if buying a car wanting to save a few thousand
But to beg for $0.10 off bananas or $1 off bread?
Why bother?
(I am more surprised people actually waste time reading flyers in the newspaper, half the time I just toss paper unread into the blue box)

What? I'd rather have you explain what this sentence even means... ?

I think LovelyThanks4Asking is referring to Best Buy and Futureshop. Same company but allow you to price match each other. I know the VP of marketing at Best Buy and they do this on purpose to drive up traffic to the store.

They aren't exactly same company; they do have different distribution etc & even carry different product

Either way a larger ticket purchase makes more sense to shop around for

A penny save is a penny earn. (Well there are no more pennies, only nickels but this line doesn't sound right with nickel)

You may notice that both BestBuy and Futureshop are starting to stock other non electronic items like furniture, baby products and even food. They are moving into a one stop shop like Walmart. Pretty soon, you will see more price matching everywhere.

its not worrying, nor is it begging. But if I do a full shop, and can save anywhere from 5-20$ in a shot, then why wouldnt I? sure, its not the thousands that a car would cost, but I'm buying this stuff anyways, so if I can save a few $$ in doing so, of course I will. to each there own then. if you think its begging, great, if you think im a loser, great... so be it, do your thing, i'll do mine.

And FutureShop will beat the competitor's price by 10% of the difference... that's like the skill testing question that will need to be explained to lots of people... sometimes with visual aids!

Spending an extra 3 mins in line behind a price matcher is alot less aggravating than waiting for an idiot to finish gassing up his/her car and then shuffling inside to pay but leaving their car at the gas pump.

HI Newintown,
Hope all is well. Been a while.....
The reason for leaving your car at the pump when you go inside to pay is what you should be doing.
If you remove your vehicle and another car pulls up to fill up gas and leaves before you get to pay for your gas, you can be on the hook for their gas too.

Where did you hear this? It's never ever happened to me and I always move my car once I'm done at the pump.

Also, if you move your vehicle after pumping, but before paying, it freaks out the attendants. Several of them have been dragged and killed because of people stealing gas, so while you may have good intentions of letting the next person start pumping, the attendant has to track which car belonged to which pump and which person came out of what car and what brand of cigarettes the person who's already AT the register would like to buy.... so if someone really wants to be considerate, they'll wait patiently in line while the person in front of them pumps, pays and leaves.

How about the old man in front of you on a Sunday at 12:56pm that pulls out the lottery envelope full of tickets and gets the cashier to check... meanwhile your turning red trying to get your proline bets in before kick off at 1pm

...that sh*t is real world problems

Do you get upset if the person in front of you has a huge pile of groceries in their cart?

No I don't. Because I can see them. The price matcher looks just like you and me and then wham, out comes the wad of flyers and its back and forth for the next 10 minutes. LOSERS!

that's fine, but do it when theres no one around. When people are waiting to pay for their shopping because you're an inconsiderate loser, it pisses people off. Go early in the morning when no ones there. Problem solved.
