The tin can of a condo I used to own in Toronto goes for close to that. Prices are crazy but "still" affordable.

It is crazy how the prices have shot up, I agree... but I wouldn't insult anyone suggesting they live in a "tin can". The is the Amesbury, the smallest 2-storey model Mattamy built in most of the early phases. There are thousands of people in town that live in these and smaller homes quite comfortably.

The Amesbury a few houses up sold for a little bit less with no finished basement, no stainless steel appliances, and without the custom backyard landscaping.

You want an answer to your question? I personally can't stand the tagline "You're richer than you think", and when the banks lend more money to more people, it creates more buyers and drives the prices up. Pair that with the high demand here in town (and it is not just here) and it drives the entry price point way up.

By not being avg joe's.

Looks like a nice house to me. Brick exterior, nicely landscaped, good sized front porch, finished basement, hardwood floors, beautiful backyard, modern kitchen, etc.
