Hi there!

My husband and I purchased the tweed in last years(2014) phase. We were suppose to close Nov 2014 we've been delayed twice to March 2015 so be prepared for a delay.

Upgrades we got were:
-pendant lighting over the island
-extra cable outlet
-stainless appliances
-upgraded the railing and posts
-stained the railing and posts to match the main floor (the included colour was a natural finish when we bought our house)
-upgraded the doors (total cost was around $220 for the whole house
-removed above stove cabinets to put in a chimney fan after closing (they actually charge around ~$200s for this)

And I think that was it. Hope this helps!

Hi! Nice to hear from you,
-how much they charge for pendant light over island? does it include the light itself?
-is it possible to upgrade the stainless appliances to a better model? how much? or you got the white appliances and upgraded to stainless? because ours includes stainless but I would like to change the refrigerator to french door fridge.
They said we are not allowed to remove the above cabinet. they said its only for detached not towns. Its good they allowed it in 2014.
-By the way do you have picture of your unit? like kitchen? did you do cartier or frendel cabinets? what is the colour of your kitchen cabinets and countertop if you don't mind? Im have hard time choosing colours. Im thinking of wedge/espresso or the grey like cabinet with calcutta countertop. :)
Thank you!

Did you do the railing instead of knee wall for 2nd floor stairs? Im wondering how it looks like. Do you have picture by any chance? Thank you so much.

We bought the Tweed End also! 3 bedroom, with stop & drop.

Really wanted the Sutton Corner with in-law suite...meh..
Not sure what to do with the first floor either... Office area most likely, if it can be pulled off neatly. Or storage???
We opted out of the flex space Mattamy offers due to the relocation of laundry.

You can upgrade to your own appliances, if you have exact measurements.
I wouldn't worry about the knee wall, IMO knee wall looks better unless you upgrade to iron posts.

Our DC appointment is late February, so we have time to properly price these things out and annoy the DC...

So far, considering the following...
-Railings, banisters w. stain. Both sets w. carpet runner. There goes the 5k.
-Hood fan w. microwave. No pricing listed, depends on kitchen pkg I guess...
-Smooth ceilings. On the fence about this.
-Step trim pkg. Quarter round is dead.
-Garage door pkg. Need to price outside companies. Price seems kinda high.
-Jetted Tub. Master only...we'll see... Also pricey.
-Window coverings. Wood blinds for kitchen and balcony
Anyone with advice or ideas, please chime in...

So far we are only half way through the DC package, so our list might grow

...until we get the final price. lol

Same here. We originally want the sutton corner but then it's sold out but later on realized that I want the layout of tweed end especially the masters bedroom. What I did like about it is the 1st floor. But maybe we will make it a play area or exercise area. Our DC appointment in 3 weeks.
Upgrade so far are:
Railing in lieu of kneewAll
Laminate 1st floor
Stain stairs or hardwood with stain (wanted hardwood but I'm thinking not safe for my 3year old)
Plasma wall
Sous package
Fridge line
Island pendant
Cultured marble in enquire
Underpad

We had the washer and dryer on 2nd floor. Easier for us to do laundry while watching tv or cooking:)

Which block are you? Where are at 225.

We recently got a Tweed End Phase 4 , got an appointment month end for architectural changes . Do you think its worth replacing knee walls with posts ? Also thinking of removing the dining room wall to open up the area , no idea what it would cost.

Any thoughts or advise ?

Hi! We replaced the knee wall with post but didnt remove the wall in the dining. I dont think yiu can do that because i think there is something inside that wall that supports something. But good model choice. I like ours very much. Originally i wanted the sutton corner but thanks it got sold first. Now tweed end cost more than the corner but i dont know why

Hey Darlspyke - thanks for your reply. We are keen on replacing the knee wall for sure and yes you must be right , that wall in the dining room must be some sort of support wall. We were looking at sutton corner for a while but couldn't get past the small window in the master and also the flow of the room. It was a fish market the day we went to get it - everyone was eyeing sutton corner. We were lucky to find a tweed end at the very end. Our number was 204 :D .

Which block are you in ? Did you already move in ? Any pictures you could share ?

Also found this which I believe is a tweed end - http://www.rstours.ca/16307a You think the kitchen island is going to look like that ?

We have our architecture choice option meeting next week. The only option we are considering is a super shower in the master bedroom. Are the other items like replacing kneewall with posts or replacing coat closet sliding mirror with doors also architecture choice options or are those considered Design Centre options?

What ACO and DC options are considered "must haves" for Tweed End?

I am not sure about your specific model, but upgrades such as replacing the kneewall with rail & pickets and replacing the mirror sliders are typically listed in the Design Book. Considering your ACO Appointment is next week, you will receive your Design Book at a later date.
