hahah yes some are hermits never or rarely seen down the street from me - never social, no hi, no good morning, no how are you.

I must say I am blessed to have great neighbours who all social and are great to talk and willingness to help out when possible as I do the same in return.

It depends does the hermit have someone taking care of his yard or does he just let the grass and weeds grow. Pale fat glistening guy will eventually get a tan being outside all day. i am assuming if he's outside he must be caring for his lawn. Is fat guy annoying or fun.

What's so bad about neighbours who keep to themselves? It could be sooo much worse... Has anyone ever lived in student housing?

we have wonderful neighbours. A young couple who is fond of gardening. whenever they are leaving for vacation they let us know. i hope they never move.

My neighbors had me water some hanging baskets while they were away in exchange for unlimited pool access. That was a fun week.

Cool neighbors are the best.

The one thing my idiot neighbor can't seem to grasp is when shoveling snow into the road once the plow passes by it pushes it right back at the end of the driveway. This guy is truly an idiot.

I have tried to talk to them but they just don't get it. They actually said the tree on the front lawn died because someone shoveled snow onto it! (And what about the entire bloody winter!)

you can't change some people. They pretend they do not understand or they think they are right.

If you have told them to shovel to the sideways and they don't get it, you can teach a lesson by shoveling more into their way so that they bring up this matter to you? Then you have a chance to explain they will understand?
