Hi!

I recently found out that our design consultant is Coreta. Has anyone had her for their DC? If so, what is she like, was she helpful, is there anything that I should be aware of?

Also, are you able to change design consultants?

Thanks!

I haven't heard anything negative about any of the design consultants. Several neighbours and friends have spoken highly of their experiences with various DCs.

For both of our Mattamy purchases we had Agapi help us with the design process. The first time we were assigned to her, and for the second home (phase 2 HSV) we were able to request her based on our previous relationship with her. If you are partial to someone else, I'm sure that they can accommodate your request as well.

Good luck!

Thanks Whitney74 & Heather22003

I was reading some old posts and it got me concerned for our appointment, so I wanted to ensure that I got a consultant who was helpful and didn't rush us.

So, this information helps calm those fears! Much appreciated.

If I think of any specific questions Heather22003, ill definitely PM you.

Thanks again :)

Hello, did you still have Coreta for your DC? How was your experience with her? Will appreciate very much your inputs.

Coreta was our Design Consultant and we enjoyed working with her.

We walked into our appointment knowing majority of the upgrades, colours, and styles we were planning to select. She helped us make a few last-minute decisions (we had more questions and felt it was easier to discuss them with her in person). Throughout the appointment, she commented on our choices, whether she thought it was good or bad. She also offered great suggestions when we weren't 100% sure about our selections but had ideas in mind.

Knowing it was our first home and that everything was new to us, Coreta was patient and never pressured us into making choices we didn't feel comfortable with.

PM me if you have any specific questions!

Glad to hear all this positive feedback on Coreta! We have our appointment scheduled with her next month.
Anyone get anything at the Design Appt that they hadn't thought of on their own?

This will be our second newbuild with Mattamy. For our first home, we spent a long time in the DC and were super organized with all our finishes already picked out. We pretty much got everything we had planned. The only suggestions that differed from our plan were 1) to get the shower tiles installed horizontally instead of vertically (looks more modern)! and 2) getting our stair pickets stained to match the floors (we had misunderstood the price in the book and decided there was no way we were paying thousands of dollars for stain when I have stained stairs myself before.. but when our DC explained it was only about $600, we decided it was worth the convenience to pay for it)

What was the cost to have the shower tiles installed horizontally rather then vertically?

We had Corera And she was absolutely amazing. Easy to talk to, funny, and very knowledgeable - she's been doing it for over 20 years.

I had someone else for my first home, and while making a decision on my stairs, a woman stepped in, made my choice for me. Later turned out to be Coreta, and I even remember telling her this at my second time around appointment.

If we buy a third, I would actually ask for her specifically at signing.
