60 seconds. That's how long the E/W light on Derry at 5th line stays green for now. Backing up traffic past James Snow, past Trudeau, past 4th line, past Armstrong, and beyond. Is this stupid? Is this needless? Shouldn't this have been fixed years ago? Didn't traffic flow so much better when 5th line was closed for construction? Am I alone in thinking the answer to all of these questions is yes?

WHO.
THE.
HELL.
CAN.
GET.
THIS.
FIXED?

Milton needs a hero.

You do know we have a highway right?
Why would you drive on a smaller street stopping at every red light

Because it’s faster?

Got to be someone lobbying for it from the 5th Line side. There's just no way it "malfunctions" as often as it does. Someone must be doing it on purpose.

It does not even seem possible that its effective rate at stopping traffic is as accurate as it is. Its timed perfectly all the way from Trafalgar to nail you as you approach.

So what do we do? Put up a billboard in one of the fields with some guy’s name and phone number? I will call this person every day I just need to know who is responsible for this assault on humanity.

This intersection is controlled by the Region and not the Town. You will have to call them.

How long is the opposite light?
It’s only a minute fer holy Krantz sake, times 60,000 people per day, that’s like only a thousand hours wasted. Chill!

^^^^

Assuming that number is not accurate, its still a legitimate way to look at the silly situation.

We stop at all these lights with almost no cross traffic. 5th line, 6th line, then its 3 to 4 cycles of lights to get through at Trafalgar as we give priority to the northbound traffic from Oakville at a Milton light.

Why can't the line up be for the Oakville folks at OUR light at Trafalgar? We sit there as they zip by resistance free. Let them have a turn waiting for a few years. Its our light!

If you were to combine the amount of wasted time just from those 3 lights you'd likely get a staggering number like you posted.

Acknowledged, that is not an accurate number, but if you consider daily round trip, it's probably not that crazy to presume 25% of Milton heads East then back again each weekday to get 60,000ish through that intersection.
To your question, because then all the Brittania traffic would come up to Steeles, thus now wasting 2000 hours. However, that would negate the need for widddening Britannia 8 years earlier as we've been promised.

Funny from your original post I would never have guessed it was faster for you

I get that you’re the ‘obtuse’ guy (what fun!), but it’s just not really working in this one. You’re basically the Derry/5th traffic light of this thread.

Trafalgar is directing traffic to/from the 401, I guess that's the logic, but I agree... waiting line in Derry at that intersection is absurd at times.
There should be a sensor that detects traffic incoming from 5th and 6th line, each time a vehicle arrives at the intersection from 5th/6th line they should wait at least 2 minutes to change the light.

Why can’t the wait times be relatively equal for N/S and E/W? It’s 2018 FFS.

AND WHY IS BRITANNIA NOT WIDENED 7 YEARS SOONER YET???

This town f****** blows.
