We should get some signs made up.

Well the template I've been using is derived from the three
Peter Jackson films derived from Tolkeins book
"The Hobbit" ( 1934?)

A Unexpected Journey (2012)

The Desolation of Smaug ( 2013)

The Battle of Five Armies ( 2014)

As I recall the Lord of the Rings was a evil dude who wanted the One Ring back so he/she/it
could make a comeback

The Dwarves start at the beginning of The Hobbit by being a homeless
race wandering about in the Wilderness

Gandalf the Politically Influential Wizard arranges for all those homeless dwarves to meet
at the Hobbit's house for a Quest to get the golden goodies and the Arkenstone
that the dragon Smaug took from them a ways back when he booted the dwarves from their
kingdom of Erebor.

Its fairly easy to use that stuff from The Hobbit to try to match
up with real world politics going on in Milton.

ie if Maxime Bernier does succeed in splitting the Conservative vote it could be
a rerun of what happened when Joe Clark called a pointless election and for years
afterwards the Conservatives was a two seat party.Basically two homeless
dwarves wandering in their wilderness,

My immense gratitude to Milton Dutch Day for entertaining us with 'The Rise (and Fall) of the Lord of Slime' saga...*good* reading

Getting down to the wire and your voice matters. We don't get good candidates if we don't nominate them first. Across parties.

So, please register here: https://www.liberal.ca/register/ to vote in the upcoming local Liberal nomination meeting.

You actually found that bukkake of words entertaining?

Anyway, when is the Milton nomination happening? Is it scheduled or just like a surprise pop-up event on a Wednesday morning?

Miltonians who have registered, your vote counts and is very important. Please mark January 20 on your calendars to stop by the venue (to be announced) and cast your vote for the next Liberal candidate for the federal election next year.

You can no longer register, so this message is for all of you who ALREADY registered.

It matters that we have great candidates representing our community across all parties and the political spectrum. It's time we take charge of our riding and support only good, capable people who will represent us well.

Thank you all and Happy New Year

How do I sign up to get picked up on the MinMaxx bus, so I can have that greasy asshole drive me to vote against him?

So I don't need to have an actual membership to vote? I did register on the site but had to unsubscribe (3 or 4 times I think) because of the deluge of emails. I actually got 5 emails in one day even after I unsubscribed!

Is there a local site I can look at for updates?

Welcome to the Liberal Party of Canada!
You've joined Canadians from coast-to-coast-to-coast who have made a commitment to help build our movement and make our party stronger.

So after staving this off all fall, I'm in, I've done it, so God help me, I hope it's actually not too late.

You need to be registered to vote for this, but where does it say yo hav e to be a member for a certain time leading up to the ballot? Hope I haven't screwed this up. If you haven't signed up, I would do it today, like now, right now, in case today's the cutoff.

Went in to check this site just now to get details and information, but just like yesterday:
Quote:
This page isn’t working milton.liberal.ca is currently unable to handle this request.

Response to my email inquiry:
Quote:
Hi ---,

You had to have registered prior to December 16 to be eligible to vote. You can attend the meeting but if you only registered yesterday then you will not be able to vote.

We do not yet have a location or time for the meeting. Once we do, you will be notified.

I have copied Hermine Hibbert on this email as she has taken over the role of Chair. You can direct further inquiries to her.

Thanks

Danielle Masanto

So I have left this too long, I am disappointed to learn, sorry to HVS and AVK. So much for transparency, so much for clarity and making this process public and as widely visible it should be. And so much for making this deadline known ahead of time - did anyone know about the Dec. 16th? Seems maybe not.

This dead website "problem" seems intentional to me now, just my hackles feeling on that. Also, the contact info I have quoted above from the LPC site is out of date, the new apparatchik is:
Hermine Hibbert hhibbert@sympatico.ca
Same non-functioning website of course.

Oddly I find the ineptitude of our government sort of reassuring - like they can’t be THAT evil if they’re so stupid.
