So I pitched Halton Region's Community Investment Fund
for a Category 1 one year pilot ( highly innovative ,experimental and doomed to be rejected without support from the community)
project called
The Philadelphia Grendels/Project EXCALIBER

In a nutshell it proposes to put a mixed media ( television/video) studio in the Adult Day Program part of the building to produce
videos and mixd media storyboard prizes for showings at the Milton,Burlington and Oakville long term care
parts of the 3 buildings.Since I knew Allendale LTC had folk with any number of ailments
I used as the prototype something mom and I had crafted in 2017 for the ug 31 2017 Talent Show, the Worlds first
pictograph video and supplementary study guide storyboards
for the audience to handle and experience

If the notion of a TV studio in the building making stuff for the Residents
of the three Region run LTC's cranks your motor
the Halton Region contact person is

Comedy

The overall mandate being "laughter is the best medicine"

Hence its a request to Halton Region to ask for
30grand to make a comedy factory.

Back in 2017 my mom and I approached that angle
by completely rewriting
WW2 history by
writing/creating storyboards where her character deals with a frustrated
failed ballet dancer who invades her country
( wahere ballet was born) and pops ballet dancing dwarves into
InEscapeable bottles

A version of Hitler and the Holocaust you won't find in the history books

Essentially the 2017 attempt was meant to lighten up history for the
Allendale residents with sight gags, puns and the like all designed
for a very specific audience of 200 Allendale residents

Man, dwarves always get shafted in your history revisions.
Doesn’t Halton have any giants? I prefer to be traumatized by dwarves vs. Giants.

That would of course require Halton councillors (Zeeshan Hamid? etc approve 30 grand for the Seniors Comedy Factory idea

Back in 2017 my mother had been shuffled off to Allendale due to some seriously heavy "life sucks" stuff
so when I helped her on the project it was quite literally a matter of her life or death
so I 'd been willing to pour in hundreds of dollars of my own time to make it happen,

In 2018/2019?

Giants cost $$$$$

Anyways the latest word back from Halton Region Community Investment Fund
staffer Carolyn McDougall is that she's noted the existence of
a application for the EXCALIBER Project for a $30,000
one year pilot project to

"9. Evidence of Need: Provide evidence to support the need for this project and why it
should be considered a priority in Halton. This can include data collected by your
organization (e.g., program trends and statistics); community data (e.g., planning or research
documents, statistics, information from community consultation processes); the broader
literature; and should include information specific to Halton if possible. (Maximum: 300 words)
Allendale LTC was constantly being put under
quarantine during the winter months as Influenza A and
respiratory disease outbreaks closed down volunteer
activities .EXCALIBER provides a product and service
that can continue to enrich the lives of Residents during
Page 7 of 34
these quarantines. The author also has in his possession
a Coroners Statement which indicates
Allendale has sepsis causing bacteria in it.Clearly the
Residents could benefit from a life enrichment video
that teaches them in a fun way to use all those
sometimes malfunctioning hand sanitizers located in the
hallways."

and Carolyn countered EXCALIBER will need a sponsoring registered charity
by Dec 14 to go ahead.

And about 17 of the 34 pages of the application deal with this character
the Wondrous Philadelphia Grendel

alas she's not a registered charity.

Make her a giant and lift her boobs, then I’m in for 30 grand, of goodwill.

I was going to steal that, until I noticed it was copyrighted.

Actually in the original concept sketches she'd a disability imp,a sort of
9 to 5 office minion sitting in a cubicle at a place called "Disability Inc" who spends those dreary work days aat a UnAccessibility Software Terminal causing Text to Speech software
such as Microsoft SAM and JAWS to freeze up,reboot, etc ( she is a disability imp after all)

She's a thirty something single mom whose hubby imp may have ditched her for another
impess(?) and she has to raise two imp daughters on her own

Petunia, who cruises about town in a 1922 Pierce Arrow and has a falcon named Felicity under Petunia's
rather wide brimmed hat ( a cool eighteen year old teen imp)

and
Majory, about 13 years old who is a victim of bullying at "Disability High"

So to unwind ,Philadelphia does the night shift as DJ at Radio GRNDL where she gives politicians
such as Dug Ford and Donald Troll some Don Cherry styled WhatFor
sour grapes.

( all from a 2014 Character Series Bible called "Grendel Mills"

And yeah there are two issues in the thread

a) Halton Region wants to give its $30 grand to someone, but someone who meets
their criteria

b) Will Philadelphia find true Love (hate?) again. Will the
Powers-that-be ever allow her to be swept up in the arms of
Mr Wrong?Stay tuned for the next exciting episode of
All My Children:Grendel Mills!

And bump

I noticed in the Milton Canadian Champion's Dec 13 editorial they see
storm clouds on the economic horizon for 2019/2020

This projects obviously stillborn but I expect I'll be offering fewer Canada Summer Jobs in 2019
( I created 9 of them in 2018) as I shift into
LOFN#1 mode and spend less time babysitting CSJ students

IOW fewer Milton jobs in 2019

Actually in the case of Canada Student Summer Jobs it was
Kathleen Wynne who nearly fixed it.

So in Feb 1 to Feb 9 2018 another adult supervisor and I
fill in about 50 pages per student job on the Service Canada
application portal ( she applied for 5 students in Oakville/Milton/Brampton
and I went on a lark and applied for about 6 Projects,25 students at $3,500 each) and by mid April we were getting phone calls from Lisa Raitt,John Oliver,Dianne Finley, etc telling us we'd been approved
for 14 students at a grant of $50,000

The problem was in mid April Wynne was telling our prospective employees
she was going to give them a free tuition to college and university in her budget

So the students figured out it was better for them NOT to work during the summer
months and just take Wynne's free tuition money

So they stayed away from the 14 jobs till about July 1rst 2018 when it slowly dawned on them that
the new Premier Doug Ford was not going to hand out free tuition money and maybe they were going to have to get jobs
or hose down rich Uncle Justin some other way for money.( CSSJ being effectively a tuition grant, regardless
of the word 'Jobs" )

No doubt he has an unqualified friend he can appoint to sort it all out.
