If I take the first or second train in the morning, is parking still a problem?

I take the 7:02 train and there is lots of parking space.

Thanks!

Yeah sure for now. There used to be lots of parking for the last two trains. As ppl adjust and everyone starts coming earlier and earlier we have a domino effect. Remember no new station till 2030ish.

They were going hardcore on tickets Monday and Tuesday again.

I parked where I'm probably not supposed to today :-( Hoping I don't get a ticket. Normally I'm on 7:38 train but ran late today and by the time I got to the GO station for 7:53 the spots were all full

How much are the tickets? I see them on the windshields but didn't want to be nosey and look at someone else's.

Solved my problem by taking the earlier trains or just riding my bike. :D

Is it in the realm of possibility for the ToM to organize the use of other parking lot in town and setup a shuttle bus service? I am thinking of the HUGE unused parking lots at Derry/Bronte plaza and Thompson and LSL.

Even if we could get 100 cars to those spot that would alleviate a lot of pressure. I know a number of people that will drive from Guelph and other area to Milton because the Guelph GO line has so few trains. We are becoming a second major transit hub for Western Ontario.

I was asking is it possiable for ToM to negotiate with the Plaza owners, to use there extra spots in the back of the shopping plazas. LSL and Thompson, the spots basically behind the Shoppers.

Don't worry, Tony bought space in this weeks Champion saying if you vote for him he WILL fix the parking problem at the Go Station.

Business idea:

If anyone wants to get their bus licence, buy a small bus, get up at the wee hours, and charge people $5-10/ride to the bus...

Also you'd probably need to obtain some sort of licence from the town, like a taxi I'm assuming. If its a direct transit option (like the Liberty Village thing in Toronto) you may be exempted from this...

You could make a nice profit :) Not my cup of tea however!

The red tape getting this idea off the ground would be horrendous.

Also...get a liquor license and serve booze - maybe a row of self-serve draught taps

Demo the Arts Centre, add a shuttle bus, build a parking monstrosity at the GO.
We will get another Art Centre for free, just like last time. Hoping for piano stairs on the rebuild.

FYI, I received a $100 ticket for parking at the end of a lane the other day at the Milton GO. Not much choice in order to make sure I was in Toronto for a 9:30am meeting: park at end of lane and risk a ticket (did not think it would be $100!), drive to Lisgar, but since I had driven around the Milton lot looking for parking for 20 minutes and stuck in the traffic of other people doing the same, I'm fairly certain I would have missed the last train out of Lisgar or drive down to Bronte or Oakville and risk a chance of not finding a spot and missing my meeting.

Commuting from Milton is becoming increasingly frustrating...even getting to the Milton GO with the Derry/Scott closure and lane reductions are making me crazy.

If only everyone here would call Metrolinx... Not really the town's responsibility. I don't call the town when there's no spots at the local KFC. Metrolinx is a business (of some sorts) that isn't owned by the T of M.
