Has anyone tried to do this? Do you think it a DIY job or do I need to hire a professional. I am thinking of using epoxy as a floor in our basement workroom. What do you think?

We did our garage floor about 3 years ago and have had no issues. We park our cars there and the paint has not peeled.

You may have to leave the house for several days because of the fumes. If you're not going to be parking on it or spilling toxic chemicals on it, why not just lay vinyl floor planks? We used trafficmaster from HomeDepot and they're amazing, they're solid plastic so you can drown them in water and they seem to be impossible to destroy.

I know you can do Epoxy for houses but not sure about how strong the chemical is. I'll look into Traffic master too Thanks

We didn't have to leave the house. I can't remember it being strong. It was a 3 step process, took a while to do as the floor had to be clean. If you like to see it before you do yours just let me know.

Originally i got a family member to help and did one of those "do it yourself" jobs. It peeled after 3-4 months. Obviously it was a bad job. However I ended up hiring a company (On wall solutions) and they did a great job. I got both my cars parked in there and it looks pretty nice. It's a great product and easy to clean.

I want to do this for a workroom in the basement, do you think it will chip, no cars will be on it, just a workshop. I will be doing a DIY project. Don't want to spend too much money on a tool storage room.

The flooring when done right will not chip. I got a family friend (who is a painter) to do it the first time and it was real bad. He used the Epoxy Paint and it chipped with the car tires being warm from driving. When I got this company to do it, they did an awesome job. They do interior epoxy floors as well. I have dropped everything and anything on it. Hammers, tools, my winter rims. Nothing puts any dent in it. Easy to sweep and wash. I should have done this the first time around and saved the headaches. For the cars I park in here, I really wanted something to keep it clean. I'm not sure exactly what I paid for this, but I think its was around $2500. I know that sounds pricy, but well worth it and its a half decent size garage.
