Is there any plans for a future movie theatre in the west end? Especially with all the new homes being constructed, along with the future University. It would make sense

I think we have a better chance of Costco opening up before a movie theater...
I heard from a friend who heard from a friend who heard from a guys friend who works there that there is one slatted for Milton.
It is happening.... Not

lets start with some necessities,
Like a gas station,
Or a convenience store,
Or a grocery store that can hold more than 50 cars so you can buy a loaf of bread on Saturday,
Or a road out maybe?

Then we can bitch about movies.

Screw the west end. East end was here first.

The irony is you have a grocery store that can’t hold 50 cars, while we have a grocery store that can’t attract 50 cars.

I would LOVE a Costco in Milton (however my husband would not as I tend to spend too much $$ there). I also heard from a friend of someone who works in planning that it is coming - god only knows when though.

A gas station is also coming I believe, at the northeast corner of Derry & Tremaine.

I think we're SOL when it comes to a real grocery store, unless you count the Sobey's opening at Bronte and LSL - but until LSL and Savoline opens, it really doesn't count as close by - might as well go to Metro.

Let's get a second velodrome in Milton before adding another theatre.

The overpass from Savoline to Bronte will be open in close proximity to when the Sobey's opens.

So they say! Fingers crossed but honestly I'll believe it when I see it.

I went and had a look at the end of Savoline yesterday to see how the progress was coming along.
Surprise/surprise.... nothing looks any different than it did a month ago or the month before that.
Nothing paved, the base hasn't been prepared, still piles of dirt.
No visible evidence of any paving equipment....

This thing is still months away.

 Can't see that being approved by our current town council - definitely not "old Milton" enough for them!
