Why do people even have dogs anyway?
Because dogs are awesome.
But they bark and sh*t all over the place, and then you build a relationship with them and then they die.
And what did you so for them? Fed them the same boring dry garbage every day for breakfast lunch and dinner and lived on a tiny piece of land and only let them out of the house for max 1 hour every day.
No thanks. Cats. Cats are the way to success. Nothawthorny has it right.
My dog barks very little, and only for a reason. She also shits in almost the same spot in the backyard, but mostly only on walks. She will eventually die though, which sucks. Her breed is known to be quite healthy and resilient though, so we are expecting her to get to her late teens.
We feed her a variety of stuff, including beer! She's a total boozehound. She sleeps most of the day, gets at least an hour walk every night, plus getting to tear ass around our backyard (she loves the snow and goes nuts in it). So I think she has a pretty fantastic life in exchange for entertaining us to no end. All 3 kids thing she's the best thing ever, and she does a good job of tolerating their grubby little hands.
Cats are pretty awesome, but everyone and their cousin is allergic to them. Also, they spend more time plotting your demise while sucking up all your attention (part of why I think they are awesome).
But yeah, dogs are awesome. You just need to find the right breed to fit your life. Or not.
