What's the temparature setting you have on your thermostat at home now? We have ours between 21-23 C. But we feel cold all the time. It is a energy star mattamy home - for whatever it worth.

Maybe when it gets colder I should do an Infra Red evaluation of the home.

You could have cold zones that you are not aware of, voids in the attic insulation, an unbalanced heating system, a furnace that is too small for the home, or something as simple as an old clogged furnace filter.

I keep mine at 21 during the day, 19 at night. Humidity plays a big part in how warm you feel in the home. I live in an older home and added a whole-home humidifier to the furnace for the winter months. In newer homes, the problem tends to be too much humidity though so be careful with humidity if you're in a new home.

It could be how you set your comfort controls, do you have it so you furnace is continuously bringing in outside air? Not sure how the new furnaces work but when we lived in our Mattamy home the high efficiency furnace had 3 settings. I always keep mine on one of the two lower setting. I found that with the high setting the house did always feel cold, and you will get some nice high utility bills on that setting. The reason for this is because you are continuously bring in cold air from out side and heating it up, your furnace is also throwing out all the warm air from your home. Check your setting to be sure you are not running on the highest level

I think you're referring to the HRV system. A furnace shouldn't be bringing in outside air, just warming/cooling inside air.

Your thermostat may not be reading right. My thermostat is out by 3 degrees. Mine is set for 75 but according to 3 other thermometers (within 3 ft of the thermostat) it's only 72.

Humidity makes a huge difference. Go to Home Depot and buy a cheap humidistat so you'll at least know if your house is too dry.

I wonder, is your T-stat mounted on a wall with a hot air supply or other source of heat inside? That is: where the T-stat is getting toasty and satisfied before the room warms up. I have had someone tell me they found that condition when they had the same "problem".

No, stat is on an inside wall with nothing, no duct work at all and no direct sun light.

I could be that you are running your HRV too much. At this time of year it will cool the house and while it is running the furnace blower will also be running. This will send a chill through the air. HRV's should not be used more than you need to, and how much a family uses the HRV will depend on lifestyle and how many people live in the home.
