Yes, they seem to be making good progress on your firebreak homes!
And security tonight was really friendly. He let us through with a smile and waved and said by to my kids when we were driving out.

Hey Total did you get Mattamy to throw in a discount for the street for our inconvenience!

Nope, but hopefully security starts to treat people with respect.

Sounds like it...

Not sure about the email, but I know Joe is still with Mattamy, I spoke to him some time last week. I also read a while ago in this forum that his email did bounce back...this was months ago.

oh btw neighbour, went to the site yesterday, your house is coming along nice. I took a single shot, I would post it here, if I knew how ? :?

You have to go to a photo hosting site. I use www.photobucket.com - its free. Get an account, upload your photo there. After the photo is uploaded, view your album, put the cursor over the photo you want to post or was just uploaded and it will show you 4 different links, you want the IMG code. Copy that code and paste it in the message. The image code will look like
[ IMG]http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/qq68/Totalpkg50/howtopostpics-1.jpg[/IMG ] <-- Something like that.

Houses. I believe its Fieldgate, Arista or Greenpark that owns the land...

Anyone using a good daycare, preferrably a Montessori? Any recommendations?

We haven't used day care but I've heard great things about the Bronte Street School (410 Bronte St.). They use a Reggio Emilia approach. I work in children's mental health and my coworker, is a psychologist who does assessments and observations in the classroom and she was really impressed with this day care in terms of approach and the learning environment.

We send our daughter to that school, she just started in September but we are really impressed so far. I can get more info just PM me.

Has anyone gone into their home and put up pink insulation on their garage exterior walls before the drywall goes up?

I assume sometime after the framewalk is good, but any idea of an exact time to go?

Mattamy only puts insulation in the garage interior walls (any walls against the inside of the house). The front and exterior wall will not have insulation unless your house is 1.2m away from your neighbour, then they add insulation for increased fire protection. If you want to add insulation, you can buy white coloured insulation from Rona. For a 2 car garage, you will need 2-3 bags of insulation. I would recommend R12, because theres a miniscule difference between the higher rated insulations, as you can see in this website:

http://www.insulationsmart.com/what_will_i_save.htm

Another reason I recommend the white insulation is it matches the colour of insulation Mattamy uses in the garage, so it won't look out of place and stand out. I'm not sure if security will allow you to add the insulation, but its not impossible to get done. You probably want to wait after the framewalk, but you can speak to your builder contact to see if its okay to put in, but its at your own risk...
Again, I am not saying I have done this or advocating to do this...this is some helpful information for people that want to do it to their homes...again, at your own risk...

In terms of security, I have and everyone else has noticed a big change with the security. I have not seen the guard I had issues with, which is a good thing because he had no people skills what so ever.

I haven't been by the site in a few days  Anyone getting their finishes yet on the north side?

2 months to go for us! yipee!

Our garage floor is in and the walls are drywalled and they were laying the tiles tonight which was cool to see. Our pickets and rails were also in, but not sure what else was done, because of the tiling we couldn't go in. Shouldn't be too long now...40 days or so? :P
