LOL For sure.
I haven't been by the house since our PDI. Oliver went by today. I'm trying not to go so it will be even more exciting when I do go there.
Now, seriously, has anyone seen anyone in the house next door to ours - 16?
And someone tell me if we have shutters yet. They hadn't finished the exterior paint and trim on ours at our PDI and I really want to know how it looks!
A- my son asks about you guys every time we go to our house. We ran into you so many times, I think he just expects that you are always there....and very soon, that will be true!

For those that have moved in on the street already....anyone know when garbage pick-up is? I keep forgetting to call during business hours to find out as our street is not coming up on the town's website.

every Wednesday for recycles, every second Wednesday for garbage

This page has all the goods. Coombes would be part of Area 4.

Also -- green box is weekly just like recyling.

Thank You! So would this Wednesday be garbage or just recycling?

Congratulations to you all on your close or imminent close. May I ask if any of you have any moving boxes I can take off your hands? Thanks.

Sorry to bother... but I'm moving in three weeks, can I take any moving boxes off you hands?

Thanks again.

Hey all.
Two questions.
1- How do we get our green box and recycling?
2- our garage door going into the house has a keypad.....how does it work? what's the code? I can't find anything in my package about it.

Thanks :)

Green box, kitchen catcher, blue box you get at the dump on Hwy 25. Bring a bill, license showing your new address (something) and they'll give you all for free.

Keypad shouldn't have a code -- in fact, when I picked up my keys I was given the batteries and you had to put them in and set a code as far as i remember.

I am assuming that most of you have moved in or are moving in really soon and have just been real busy.

How is it going so far? We won't be moving in for almost another 3 months! :(

Also, anyone find a good vendor/merchant for shutters/blinds? California Shutters to be exact.

Sunny & Geeta,

We aren't moving for another 2 weeks.

We had KC blinds measure our windows and they will be installing them shortly after we move in. They are well known in Milton and also did Johnny's sisters house on Gooch Crescent. We got a few other quotes but they came in the cheapest and I already seen their work. I don't believe they have a website but you can call at the below number. They are super friendly.

KC Blinds & Shutters

Thanks,

Jen

Thanks Jen & Johnny, will keep the # handy! :)

Hi guys !
Anybody ordered that built in tube/pipe in the wall that goes from behind the tv to the side where you put the receivers ?
If so I am having hard time to pass the wires thru. Is it supposed to be hard like that ? any ideas/advices how to manage this ?
thanks

It might be dropping into the basement and then you need to push it back up from down there ... I think that's what ours did.

two questions for everyone:
1) Our floors plans show a "bench with storage" in our mud room. Does this mean it should be one of those benches that open up? Currently our home has a standard bench with nothing underneath....makes me wonder if it was missed?
2) The yellow insulation in our basement has patches that are a lot darker in spots (dark yellow/orange). We were reassured that this is just a natural discolouration in the insulation and not water damage. Do others see the same sort of discolouration?

1 week to go until closing!

Hello Coombsters!
So we got the keys to our house today! Woohoo! So exciting! Looking forward to seeing everyone on the street.

We spent most of the afternoon bringing over boxes and unpacking the kitchen. I forgot how tiring moving is! And this is only the beginning as the movers don't come until Friday.

Good luck to all getting settled!
See you soon!

ps. A lot of our PDI items are still outstanding. I guess we will be dealing with trades people for awhile longer.

Yay D-ex!!!!
I was thinking of you today. I was working all afternoon so couldn't come by to say hi.
And yay double A!
I'm so excited that you will be on the street soon!
As for cleaning, ours was pretty good. The cupboard just needed a bit of a wipe, my carpets and floors were good as were the sinks and tubs. I was impressed. But wow - construction zone, the dust accumulates fast!
I'm probably home for 5 tomorrow so feel free to come and say hi- that goes for you too, D-ex!

For those of you who have moved in already.. Did you need to do a lot of cleaning (sawdust in cabinets, carpets etc)? Just wondering how long it will take me to clean before moving our stuff in. Tx

Lots, but I would suggest cleaning after you move in...
