The mom, with her mother who discovered the bodies, was interviewed on Global TV last night (oddly on their front lawn) and it was shown on the 11 o'clock news. It was devastating to see her, though I think she was a lot more coherent than I would've been in her place. She said that there had been problems in the marriage but she had never thought for a second that her husband would ever hurt their child. Even in spite of what happened, she said that he was a good father and that he loved Noah very much. She said that she had left Friday evening for an overnight trip with a girlfriend never fearing to leave her son with his father, and that on Saturday afternoon her mom had come around to bring some soup for them when she found Noah and his father. It's a terrible loss for the family all around, but I can only imagine how traumatic it must have been for the grandmother to think she was bringing some food around for her son-in-law and her grandson only to make such a discovery. The one curious question was at the end when the reporter asked the mother if she thought that perhaps the father had taken his own life and their son's life because he was afraid she would leave him, to which she said maybe. But how can you ask someone in such grief to speculate the reasons as to why someone would do something so horrendous? I don't know that anyone but the father can answer with 100 per cent certainty as to the reason for this senseless loss of a young child's life.
Was it Cathrine Macdonald from Global who did the interview?
