Does anyone know a company and 'aproximately' how much it would cost to have a Harley shipped from Orlando to Buffalo? (very hard to find info online)...I would meet them in Buffalo and bring the bike across myself through RIV...this is not through a dealership either...the bike is at a house.

Any suggestions or leads in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. My alternative is to fly down and rent a truck to get it back...$200 flight and $170 to rent truck (unlimited miles)...

There are three or four experts(not dealers) that have personal experienes shipping their cars from the states ..Florida and California in particular.. that would help and be happy to give details.

Heh.. if you watch the reality series Shipping Wars, you'd use uship.. of course you want the bike in 1 piece.

If you can get a truck for 170$ one-way, that seems very cheap,b ut you have to include fuel in that as well which probably would be a bunch.

Should be easy to find someone to bring it up cheap.

How much does 18hrs of meth cost? Anyone from the Ivy here to advise?

HI marathonman

There are a few ways of doing it. First question is are you a member of HOG? If not, might be worth your while to join, they offer discounts and shipping services for Harley members. You can take the bike over to a HD dealer and work out a deal to have them ship it. Also another way is to visit a HD dealer and ask for one of the shipping boxes their bikes came in, then you can take care of the shipping yourself. Locate a National trucking company in the Orlando area with a cross dock operation, take the bike and crate over there, let them allow you to box it up and then they will ship it up to Buffalo for you. You will need to drain the gas tank and take the battery out of the bike. Hog is the best route, I just wasn’t happy with the transit time they gave me when I was looking at doing it.

You need someone to ride it back for you? I think I may know someone. PM me if that appeals to you. You'd pay for gas, 2 days meals and 2 nights of accommodation.

Have you guys ever seen the Modern Seinfeld twitter account? It's kinda funny. This could be an entry for a tweet.

**

Newman: Kramer, I bought a bike in Florida, and I need to find a way to get up to the border in a cost effective way.

Kramer: My friend Jack Klompus lives in Florida. He'll do it. Just needs food and accommodations. I'll call him right now. Maybe he and Morty can ride it up together.

Newman: Excellent....

Jerry: Oh yeah... I like this idea.

MP...Jack was Morty's friend...Bob Sacamano (who also sells rat fur hats in Central Park and also had fleas at one point - but not from the hats) was Kramer's friend.

yeah. I originally had bob sacamano in there, but then reconsidered once I made the Florida, Del Boca Vista connection in my head.

the best jokes are ruined by after thought.

Ya gotta admit... Jack and Morty on a Harley from Florida to New York would make a great episode.

I have actually considered it, but the drive back in 3 weeks is still too cold (I know I'm a biker). I just drove drove back from there in a car and the thought of driving through Erie at 10 degrees scares me :)

Funny..just talked to Harley in both Florida and Buffalo today on the phone about a different issue and they made no mention of this...I'll call back and ask.

Happy 40th birthday, marathonman!

Your joke is actually very accurate, but I've been riding since I was 16, so I don't think this counts as a mid life crisis...I think the 35 hrs. of tats may qualify :D

If I knew you better I may consider it, but with a $25 000 bike, I'll have to pass. Lets have a few beers first and then I'll make a decision.
