CJ...I hired a VERY reputable company...came VERY highly recommended...I wouldn't leave the keys to my house with just anyone...but accidents happen. I changed companies because I wasn't satisfied with their cleaning abilities. I am currently with Sun City and very happy. The owner is awesome and very easy to deal with.

Devious...if someone falls while on my property, my insurance covers them. But if they break something of mine or steal something or do any sort of damage, it's their insurance. Homeowners insurance doesn't cover it...believe me, I checked.

I've never really thought of this much less looked into it. Do any of these companies/independent cleaners do a one-off or once in a while kind of thing? Does anyone know?

I'm tired I having to buy a new flat screen every 6 months because the cleaning lady keeps stealing it.

I'm not sure if your reading comprehension skills are a bit off cause the Leafs suck once again this year but stealing is but 1 of many many things that could go wrong when you hire someone to do work for you. Anywho, if Consuela works well for you and your family, good. Consuela just wouldn't cut it for me.

Break/steal/ruin/lose/scratch/stain/etc/etc/etc. And your house insurance won't cover it.

The prior cleaning company I had hired, chipped 2 bathroom floor tiles when they dropped my bathroom garbage can (it was a heavy, expensive can). Yay for insurance :)

I see. Your hiring abilities are suspect.

I guess my situation is different. My cleaning lady offered references and came by to meet me and check out the house. After meeting her I felt I didn't need to bother with the references, and lo and behold, it's all worked out. Had the same person for 4 years now, I would consider us friends.

I guess the trick is to not hire stupid people.

I doubt your servant thinks of you as a friend.

Friends don't ask friends to clean massive shitstains off of toilet bowls.

I've always wanted to ask this question.

If a person has a cleaning lady that comes in every 2 weeks.
Who cleans in between that time frame?

I cant believe that having your toilet cleaned only twice a month is acceptable. I clean my bathroom and my kitchen almost daily.

Speaking from experience, woman?

Everyday sounds completely bats--- crazy. We have 4 bathrooms and 1 of the 4 of us doesn't even use the toilet, all of us are out of the house all day. I'd imagine in 2 weeks some of the toilets get used less than 5 times. Most times one can do it weekly without too much a hassle.

Reminds me of the EA that said 90% of her day was managing her bosses email.. like SERIOUSLY how the heck do you get anything else done in the day. I think she answered that.

EVERY DAY??? You must piss all over the place.

Seriously though, the cleaning lady is for stupid sh*t that I'm not going to want to do, like dusting the shutters, cleaning the shower glass, cleaning the cupboards and crap like that. Those "deep cleaning" things that I would never get around to. Also I have a high standard of cleanliness, and am about 100x better at cleaning stuff than the wife - so it's either do it myself or pay someone to do it for me. The time saved is worth it to me. Clean a bathtub?? f**K that.

lol... Any mess in my bathroom would be because of me. My husband is innocent in this case. But it isn't because I pee all over the place ( that was funny). Its because of cosmetics, hair products, creams etc.....So I'm constantly cleaning my bathroom.

I'm happy with Sun City and the work they do and I'd recommend them to anyone who asks. Other users on this forum also speak highly of the owner Mike & his crew and that's when I decided to give Sun City a try and I've no regrets. He's easy to get along with and he's trustworthy. That alone is priceless.
