Are losers. Go penny pinch on your own time. I cant stand these losers showing every ad to the cashier and making a line full of people wait. Lets be honest here. You're being very inconsiderate to the people in line behind you so that you can save a few dollars. They should be forced to split it with the people they make wait. Im going to make them feel uncomfortable from now on and drop some profanity next time. If we all nail one of these losers with this maybe we can shame them into stopping.

You reminded me a few of my American friends  .

This is not true. Metro does not price match. Princess should shop there.

I love to price match! However, I do go get groceries at a time when it is not busy, so I do not make people wait. I also am organized and have my flyers ready, folded and sitting with the product. I also put all my price matched items at the end of the order. I would say it adds maybe a minute to my checkout time, if i have 4 or 5 items. That's about all I ever do. Mostly fruits and vegetables because they are super expensive and I find I can save $10 to $15 a week by doing it.

There are several aps on iphone that people can use. I have flipp on my phone which basically has all the flyers on it. You then click on what you want to price match, and then it creates a page of 'clippings' so you can show those to the cashier. It's quick and easy as well when you are organized with all your price matching items together.

Ah, no wonder. I usually go there for groceries and find that even if I pop in on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, there is never a long wait. It definitely helps reduce line-ups. Whole Foods moves fast also because they have lots of cashiers operating.

How is Longo's in town? I don't go there because it's out of the way, but I take it they provide better service as well and probably don't price match also.

You're the kind of price matcher I don't mind being behind. I hate the ones who don't have the fliers open and ready when the cashier starts scanning, or just tells the cashier that it's in that flier and to look for it. It especially bugs me when the ones who aren't prepared give me a look that says 'can you believe how slow the cashier is' while the cashier is looking through the fliers trying to find the items.

Its the stores that require 'manager approval' to price match that make the wait time longer.
Price matching only takes a few key strokes for the cashier.

Shop at food basics... they don't price match.

I used to encounter this problem when I was on mat leave... companies for baby products would send a "cheque" for $5/$10/$15 and they had to be processed as if you were paying with a personal cheque (someone has to bring a key, punch a number, turn the key, print an inch of receipt paper, inspect the paper, adjust it to the left a 1/4 inch, print some more, spin around once, take the cheque, feed it into the printer, compare what just printed on the newly straightened receipt to what's now printed on the cheque, explain the process to the cashier [even though they don't posses the necessary key for such a transaction]). I used to warn people in line behind me of exactly what would happen, offered them my place in line (because it wasn't like I had anywhere else to be) and of course no one would take me up on it, but they would still make that goat-face when they discovered I had not one but two cheques  lol

People that price match should check out the app flipp...its amazing.
To the people that hate price matchers, to bad. If you are in that much of a hurry that an extra 2 minutes is going kill them, and dont need to save money, go shop at the places that dont price match.

You’re a teacher! It’s one thing to be stuck behind someone price matching, I can handle that. But when you see them walk out to their Mercedes after – that’s infuriating.

When you hit 70 years old I think the Town sends you a notice saying you must now shop at Food Basics.

Now that I think about it, you're right, I do see a lot of older adults there when I'm waiting for my pizza. But then again, maybe it's because of their pension and retirement income that they have to shop there to keep their costs low. But all jokes aside, I'm disappointed in Food Basics in that they never have fresh meats and produce. I almost get the impression they short-change the clientele who have to shop there for the savings, and I don't think that's right. What I like about Food Basics is that they carry Hostess chips, and I will go there when they have Nestea, Haagen Daas ice creams and Red Rose Asian rice for sale, haha.

But back on topic, yes, I too like customers like soupy, but when I go to Metro, I always use the self-serve checkout and it's always good. Staff is always great there.

People like you make me sick....piss off.

 .....ahhhh feels good to be home. Feels like I never left. I see things haven't changed on this site.
I think price matching is a fantastic idea. From a business perspective it generates revenue for the retailer and stimulates the competitive drive between stores. It brings people into the store to purchase the item that is on sale and most likely encourages the customer to pick up other items that are not on sale, thus driving up sales.
So what you have to wait an extra minute or two for someone who is price matching. You probably wait longer idling in your car wasting gas for a 2 dollar coffee at a drive thru. People wait in line all the time for various reasons. That's life! Chill ,Smile and be happy.

Now...someone out there make an app for this that can find all the coupons for your purchase and have it processed by having the teller scan a single barcode off your phone. If pay for that app.

There is an App someone at my daughters school invented it, it came out last summer just don't know what it's called.
