I mean, it's not even like a typo of lolololol or hahahahahaha as they are nowhere near those letters.

It is not a typo, it is a foreign language

Every October, about two weeks before Halloween, Shoppers Drugmart has this super-trifectra-thing with chocolate bars

(1) They do 4 regular sized chocolate bars for $2.79 special that's on for a few days
(2) During that time they have buy any two bars and get 200 shoppers optimum bonus points
(3) During that time on one special day they have 20x optimum points for $75 spent or more

So it's this one-magical-day-only when the full sized chocolate bars work out around 39 cents a full sized bar after you work in all the points/deductions. That's better than costo. That's better than even buying from the manufacturer direct (My neighbour works for Wrigley's/MARS Canada)

I go in and load up on about 300 bars. I litterally take out all the boxes I find, go to cashier, clear them out, then drive to the next shoppers drugmart and repeat.

The only problem is it takes them forever to ring it in. Their cashier computers suck!! They have to manually ring in 4 at a time, they can't just ring 1 bar in and do "times 300". It's a manual process...and.....wait for it....as they ring in more and more bars the stupid cash register computer slows down more and more. It's like the computer can't handle so many individual items.

So what I do is I go in usually late late at night when the store is almost empty and I wait until there is no one in line. But at that time they usually only have 1 person working cash...so as soon as someone does come in I'm hogging the cash register for about 20 minutes. I feel guilty and I do apologize. But I haven't been able to find away around it. I've done this 3 years in a row now. It's worse if I go during the regular hours because even though they have more than 1 person working cash, me hogging one cash register for 20 minutes causes a big back log.

Usually when people find out what I'm doing in regards the price / optimum points and that the chocolate all goes to the haunted house charity fundraiser they say Wow, go for it. But still I feel bad for causing the line up behind me.

This year I cheaped out a bit and only got about 200 full sized bars so wasn't so bad. The rest ended up being the tiny "fun-sized" ones.

Why not go during the day and tell them you're going to take 20 minutes so they can call for assistance at the checkout counter?
I did that once, it still sucks, if you take up one cash register during the day the line up gets just as bad than if you do it just before midnight.

Come with me next year and see. Plus it depends on the day if I'm workig or not, usually it's easier for me on the evenings.

It doesn't matter what time is easier for you, it matters what time is better for the Princess.

Buy candy on Nov 1?
?? It's for the Milton Haunted House, I can't buy it Nov 1st because then what would I do with it? It would go bad before I could use it next halloween. Plus they usually only do this sale 2 weeks before halloween and it's only one specific day (because all 3 conditions align on that day)

Candy goes bad?

Chocolate bars have about a 1.5 year expiry date, despite what the wrappers say. So there's nothing wrong with picking up the great deals November 1st, for use the following Halloween. Just keep them in a cool dark place.

Don't feel bad. I think what you did for the charity is great.

I agree. And he's considerate for thinking of people that have to wait in line because of it. As opposed to just going and saying "Screw everyone behind me, they can all wait"

Was in line again behind a "coupon" price matcher at Superstore. Woman showing apps or whatever the hell it is on her iPhone to the cashier along with paper clippings. At the same time with the earbuds from the phone in her ears, either listening to music or on the phone while dealing with the cashier and her coupons. Took 10 long minutes of this sh*# going on. Rude, and arrogant bitch. I don't mind if these coupon clippers do their thing. But please be organized and make it easy for the cashier and quit holding up people behind you because you're disorganized. The world does not revolve around you. That store should have a dedicated lane for that stuff. End rant/
