A: @TOPublicHealth Individuals who have died with COVID-19, but not as a result of COVID-19 are included in the case counts for COVID-19 deaths in Toronto.

Q: @TOPublicHealth Does this not serve to mislead the public regarding how deadly (or not) COVID is? If I had cancer but died in a car accident did I die of cancer?

Taiwan has a lot of experience not trusting anything that comes out of Mainland China so they also had that head start. We can learn a lot of things from Taiwan not just about Covid.

US infections came from Europe, not China. Early Canadian infections came from the US, especially Vegas it would seem.

Wow !! Taiwan hits 200 days without one locally transmitted covid case. The envy of the world. Social attitudes are different there. Oct 28 (yesterday) they had 550 cases
It was a HUGE spike more than double what they had in past week
That IS transmission dude... according to press release ONLY 3 were imported cases (1 from Philippines, 1 from USA, and 1 from Indonesia)

BTW. Like usual - the link you posted contradicts your assertion, it refers to the total number of cases in Taiwan over the pandemic which is just over 500, NOT the daily amount of cases.

Taiwan's (Republic of China) biggest trade partner is Mainland China (People's Republic of China). Massive numbers of people move between the two countries and so does the potential for virus transmission. PRC's tech industry would grind to a halt overnight if it didn't buy all the important components from Taiwan. The PRC has been raising tensions with Taiwan in recent months but it isn't amounting to much.

China's low numbers are more the result of information suppression and very strict limits on people. They have a lot of dodgy numbers like the fact that some provinces are reporting higher than usual numbers of deaths but these aren't listed as covid related.

I know you are delusional and all but I provided a link to the Taiwan CDC which lists all the outbreaks etc

As a matter of fact quite ironically the day you posted that nonsense they even had a huge spike, bigger than any they had since March

And, as of yesterday - 1 imported case was confirmed.

CTV ran a news story about the over inflation of death counts

To date Canada has 10,947 deaths attributed to Covid
Of those, 10,781 were long term care home deaths

Simple math 10947-10781 = 166

So *166* non geriatric non terminally ill people have died of Covid in Canada since they started counting

Seriously why are we wearing masks and locked down again???

The news report goes further on the broken promises by Ontario & Quebec governments to "fix" the broken elder care systems as apparently we are having deja vu all over again. Nothing has changed and all the noise being generated by media did not fix anything for elders as of today new outbreaks are once again ripping through the retired community
