A family friend thought it would be a good idea to give our 5 year old a pet hamster. After 5 months this clearly is not working out. Does anybody know of a good solution to get rid of this pet in the immediate future? PM me if you are interested in adopting!

Speaking from experience when I was looking to re-home a rabbit, don't post in Kijiji or you'll end up with snake owners looking for free food.

I'd check with the local humane society for options, maybe call the local pet store to see if they want him, and google for hamster rescue where there seems to be a few options.

I believe the Oakville Humane Society will take hamsters. Take the little fella, as well as cage and food, to the society and tell them that it's not working out and surrender him. They have pics of hamsters on their website.
