Cats are beneath us. Dogs are above us. Pretty much every dog I have ever met is 10x a better person then most people I have ever met. They're unconditionally loyal, and will always forgive you no matter how little you may deserve it. I can't say that about most people.

Fish?... They're not better or worse than most people, but they are probably brighter....and just to be clear, I said I'd flush my fish, not eat it. I'm not keeping a tank of Salmon here. These are domesticated fish.

Agree with above statement.

Yeah, I'd definitely say there's something almost scary about how loving dogs are. But weren't dogs conditioned over the years to have that personality? I doubt they were like that before pets were prevalent and many of them were used for herding or hunting or they were living in the wild.

Really? Fish are bright? Okay, I was bored so I looked it up. According to the lists I've seen from HowStuffWorks, WWF, CBS, Reader's Digest, NBC, Mother Nature Network, BBC and LiveScience, the smartest animals are: pigs, primates, chimps, whales, dolphins, dogs, crows, octopi, elephants, squirrels, ravens, cows, pigeons, ants and bees. Didn't see anything about fish, unless the fish in question is an octopus.

I don't see how fish are domesticated or why it would even matter. How would you domesticate one? "Okay fish, don't escape the bowl even though there's no conceivable way you could escape anyway!" You just feed it and watch it and it doesn't care about you at all. I think fish are a pointless pet.

You're starting to confuse the issue, it's really quite simple.
The whole thing can be summarized as:

Dogs have owners. Cats have staff.

Watch Honey boo-boo and tell me people are brighter than fish.

Domesticating fish is easy. Take a wild fish, like a salmon, and breed it. Each generation, take only the friendliest ones, and breed them. Repeat until you get a clown fish.

Depends on the person, I guess? Most fish just kind of float around and eat things, unaware of your existence.

Exactly, just like Honey Boo Boo!

Well, her mother. I figure she represents about 15-20% of the population. Fish brains. I'm rather certain her daughter won't turn out much different.
