"SIGH. This article is so biased I dont even know where to start. I live in that area and as a white woman I agree with the opposing of the town homes. We were initially promised a commercial space and there were talks of a park. The MAJORITY of residents dont want townhomes because the area is already congested. Where did this ridiculous 2-3 families per home notion come from. That is just not the case. Every punjabi person I have talked too does not care that the homes are not big enough."
"It has nothing to do with town houses or big houses.I live in the area and when I talk to my neighbours, they are more concerned about kind of people moving into those townhomes. Their main concern is people from Jane/Finch moving into this area and bringing same gun culture and crime here. If you drive by Torbram and Father Tobin area you will see what I am saying. All the neighbourhood is full of those people and already "other people" are concerned for their safety during night when bunch of teenager sitting outside on the street and yelling and screaming to passerby. I know one girl whose purse and iphone was snatched by bunch of those goons right after sun set last summer. "
So it's alright if it's a "not in my neighbourhood" type of thing. Sort of like the "well to do" don't want the "have nots" living down the street from them.
