For those of you that swap out to snow tires on dedicated rims, how do you store your mounted All Season tires after you take them off?
All of the wall-mounted tire storage racks that I've seen seem to have the tires upright but I've heard that this can cause issues as the weight of the tire/rim pressing down on the rubber can cause problems with the treads? A few places have told me that they should be stacked horizontally but that would seem like a lot of weight pressing down on the bottom one...
Is one way really better than the other or does it really make that much of a difference to worry about?
We've just installed two sets of tire racks like these from Lowe's in our home:
http://www.lowes.ca/bins-racks/proslat- ... 67145.htmlI just bought a set of Nokian Hakkapeliitta snow tires with rims for under $1,000 at Kal Tire. It was worth the drive to Hamilton (in this case at least!); it was the best deal from about six places my boyfriend looked at for me, including buying from the U.S. and shipping to his CBI box (particularly with the exchange rate at this time).
